Pushing Daisies: Crochet a vintage style potholder
Time: 3 hours
Number of students: 3-8
Skill Level: Beginner- Intermediate
Knowledge Needed: Familiarity with crochet abbreviations and basic stitches such as dc and slst.
Description: This charming free pattern packs a lot of “wow” into a compact, functional package. One of wool’s most underappreciated qualities is its natural flame retardance, making it the perfect yarn for a potholder. The pattern starts with Magic Loop, and finishes with a novel edging/seaming technique.
Instructor provides: A brief handout listing abbreviations and pattern support.
Class Fee: $40
Materials Fee: 25¢ for each plastic ring desired (1 per potholder)
Student supplies: 1 ball of Liberty Wool by Classic Elite plus about 1 ounce of contrasting solid colored yarn in a worsted weight washable wool. Crochet hooks in size F and E. Removable stitch markers and several large safety pins. A printed copy of Flower Potholders by Jennifer Martin, available on Ravelry.
